Consumer Advocacy Project
NAPWA realizes the value of mental, physical and emotional well-being for people living with HIV/AIDS. The Consumer Advocacy Project (CAP) aims to increase access to HIV/AIDS services in the Washington, DC metropolitan area for individuals who are uninsured or underinsured.
CAP's goals are to provide assistance in obtaining medical, legal, financial, and other needed supportive services to people living with HIV/AIDS in the Washington, D.C.-metropolitan area following Ryan White Title I provisions, which recognizes 19 counties in Washington, D.C, Suburban Maryland, Suburban Virginia, and West Virginia. CAP also serves as a vehicle for residents to voice grievances about medical services they receive.
